“So, what am I going to find in this district with all those small villages?” I’m glad you asked… :o)
Köthen (Anhalt) is one of those towns you don’t wanna miss as it has a historical residence castle, a couple interesting churches, and Johann Sebastian Bach’s best works.
Bitterfeld-Wolfen will impress you for how it changed from an industrial, brown to a fresh, gree city. Influenced by its coal mining history, it did now make a change in that it created more green areas.
Then there is the residence town of Zerbst in the nothern part of the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district with lots of historical buildings, museums, as well as a castle. Stroll through the town center and you’ll know what I mean.
