Its Old Town emerged entirely unscathed from the clutches of the worst hours.
Being a historical town, it has put forward its much effort into its preservation.
Celle has a lot of attractions for its visitors. The old town, or Altstadt, is a charming and well-liked tourist center in the midst of gardens, churches, museums, and other places of interest.

The most striking structure is the Ducal Palace which was constructed in 1530 at the site of the former castle. The Stadtkirche, also known as town church, is another trendy site in the town and was built in 1308. It is distinguished for its white tower which still carries an old tradition through which the town trumpeter blows a fanfare twice a day.
Celle also has a synagogue which was built in 1740, and comes among the few synagogues that lived to tell the anecdote of the Nazi pogrom night of 1938. It escaped due to its location next to a key leather factory.
The town is also known for the Bomann Museum. The museum demonstrates its regional history and modern art and also forms an entry point for tourists to the Lüneburg Heath.
