International Culture Days
The biannual Internationale Kulturtage Dortmund is an event that has been a tradition since 1957. With over 100 artistic and cultural presentations, this festival has become a national event. Some highlights include international dance, theater, literature, photography and music.
Another internationally-inclined Dortmund event is the Micro!Festival. This is a street fair that hosts different musicians from around the world, as well as some foreign theater performances. It has been growing in popularity for the last decade.

Rock in the Ruins
If you prefer a guitar to the piano, then the Rock in the Ruins festival (German: Rock in den Ruinen) is just for you. Live and loud rock music is performed in the Hohensyburg castle every year on April 30th.
