The Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport [FKB] a.k.a. Baden-Airpark is more than just an airport. It is also a recreational facility. You can enjoy 18 hole golf and even go skating on an ice rink. There are many amenities for business travelers as well.
Karlsruhe/Baden Baden Airport is actually just one part of Baden-Airpark. With just over one million passengers per year, it is currently Germany’s 18th-largest airport, and the second-largest in Baden-Württemberg.

Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport lies in Rheinmünster, merely 12 km (7.5 mi) west of the spa city of Baden-Baden. It is also just 40 km (25 mi) south of Karlsruhe and 55 km (34 mi) northeast of Strasbourg in France.

Getting To And From The Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport
Baden Baden Airport is easily reached with public transportation.
You can reach Baden-Baden Main Station via ICE high-speed trains. It is the closest station to the airport at a 13 km (8 mi) distance. There is a bus that connects the station to the airport.
Other train stations with bus links to the airport include Rastatt (14 km or 9 mi) and Karlsruhe (44 km or 27 mi).
There are no metros or S-bahns stopping directly at this airport yet. Again, Baden-Baden or Rastatt are the closest. For the rest go by bus (below).
Car / Taxi
Getting to the Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport by car is easy. Simply get on the Autobahn A5 direction Basel or Karlsruhe, and get off at exit #51, Baden-Baden, and follow the signs to Baden-Airpark.
If you’re equipped with a navigation system, enter Rheinmünster for the city and Halifax Avenue for the street and you’re ready to fly!
There are several shops here for your traveling and souvenir needs. The Travel Value Shop offers sunglasses, cosmetics, watches, sweets and perfumes. You can also purchase duty-free alcohol and tobacco if you are traveling outside the EU.
There is also the U-Store and Alize Souvenirs for magazines and gifts.
Food & Drink
There are several restaurants you can choose from within the Airpark. B&B Hotel Baden-Airpark serves breakfast, while you can get a nice lunch at the Da Vinci Restaurant.
The bistro within the passenger terminal is open for as long as the airport has departing and arriving flights.
The ice rink and golf course are remnants of the Canadian presence here. Baden-Airpark began as a Canadian air force base.
