Lörrach District is located in the very south west of Baden-Württemberg. Particularly interesting is that it borders both France to the west and Switzerland to the south.

In nearby Kandern one finds the popular landmark known as Dreiländereck (or Three Country Corner) from where one can see parts of all three countries.
The Todtnauberger water falls are found in Todtnau. One can marvel at the spectacle of water rushing down from a height of 97 meters and crashing on the jagged rocks below.
Also well worth a visit is the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein. The unique white art deco exterior houses an important collection of modern furniture.
The capital of the district, Lörrach, is interesting to learn that it was once the capital of all of Germany for a single day during the Revolutions in 1848!
Here you will find Rötteln castle, the third largest ruin in Baden. Its square, pink towers rise from a forested hillside, and nearby are the excavated remains of a roman villa one can explore.
