Wiesbaden always has some happening event on the horizon to help you make the most of your visit here. Whether its the summertime Funsport Days or the year-end Christmas Market, Wiesbaden events are always the place to be for fun end excitement.
Funsport Days Wiesbaden
This Wiesbaden event is a fairly new tradition that has been going on since 2003. During these several days, the city center is transformed into a summer beach with palm trees, pools and even 800 tons of sand! You can choose to be a beach bum and lounge in one of the many deck chairs, or get involved in an fun-filled game of beach volleyball or beach soccer. There are cycling, inline skating and running events as well.
The best part is all the summer fun and activities are completely free of charge. :-)
Rheingau Wine Festival
The Rheingau Wine Festival is one of the biggest Wiesbaden events of the year. For over thirty years, the city has become the “longest wine bar in the world” for this ten-day-long festival. More than 100,000 guests descend on the city for the 100-plus stalls and wine vendors on hand.
The festival began when the local winegrowers were looking for a way to promote their products and has since grown. The Rheingau Riesling wines are the regional specialty.
This yearly street festival is another high spot in the Wiesbaden events calendar. The Theatrium has been a tradition for the last three decades! Come to the Hessian State Theater, the famous Wilhelmstraße and the Bowling Green for all the fun.
You can see cool street performers, musical groups, an artisans’ market and plenty of fabulous food at this three-day fest.
Twinkling Star Christmas Market
This Wiesbaden event is the most popular one of the Christmas season. For one month, you can check out the Twinkling Star Christmas market for some holiday cheer.
There are seasonal culinary favorites, an ice skating rink and nativity performances. You’re certain to hear one of the choirs singing your favorite holiday tunes and well as concerts and a winter wonderland decor.
