The Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in the state of Saxony-Anhalt is marked by an ongoing exodus of its inhabitants. I don’t know why as it’s a district with beautiful landscapes. It may be because of the very high unemployment rate here and that people find jobs more easily in other German states.
