Burgwedel is an amazing rugged land of pristine beauty. Forested, mountainous terrain makes up some of the protected areas in this region. Like much of Germany, this area makes for a nice view.
Other amenities await guests and residents. Moorland and pastures are also common geographical features in this picturesque land. Unique species reside in the bogs and wetlands here. Photo safaris and tours can be exciting for those who love nature and wildlife.

Freibad Großburgwedel, a heated, outside pool facility can be found when you need to cool off after visiting the rocky terrain of the area. A great place to take the kids, the facility has a kiddie pool, volleyball courts, table tennis, and chess tables. A concession kiosk can also supply yummy treats and cool drinks while you enjoy the water or games.
Theatrical performances come along every now and then and are usually performed at City Hall. Various exhibitions also make stops there throughout the year.
Another option is to rent a bicycle and pedal your way around the many bike paths in this town. Walking along many scenic paths is also a great way to enjoy the surroundings.
Camping, which is popular for many, can be done at the private campground called Campingplatz.
Each of these aforementioned options give you the chance to immerse yourself fully in the flora of this verdant countryside. With a great amount of diversity in the types of picturesque settings one can find here, I consider it a no-brainer to come to this region.
