The ruins of the monastery in Chorin (about 9km/5mi from Eberswalde) is something you should really try not to miss. If you’re here in summer, there’s bound to be some kind of music festival going on at the charming grounds.
Another attraction that you might want to visit is the barge lift at Nierderfinow about 11km from Eberswalde. This is a steel construction of locks that help to overcome the difference in level between the Oder and the Havel and aid the crossing of ships.
