Sulzbach-Rosenberg is a place which has many facets.
Drift upwards into the air in a balloon to experience this scenic German town from a bird’s-eye-view. Look down upon checkerboard farmland and historic buildings, both of which are scattered throughout the area.
Rides are provided by the Balloonteam Sulzbach. Enjoy the wind blowing lightly through your hair as you creep upwards, away from the normal tourist fare.
When you decide to get your head out of the clouds, there is an abundance of normal tourist fare in Sulzbach-Rosenberg. Clouded mountain peaks and wooded hillsides make up many of the majestic vistas you will witness on any of the walking trails and mountain biking paths.
In winter, snow-covered peaks, trees, and icy panoramas provide scenic relief during cross country skiing adventures. Canoeing is also possible on many of the gentle rivers of the area.
The Bier-und-Burgenstraße is a historic trail tracing the beer and castle history of the region, while also providing ice cold brews for your drinking pleasure. Ancient dwellings, churches, palaces, and castles mingle with the beer destinations to provide guests with a unique vacation activity.
Schloss Sulzbach, which sits atop Castle Hill, or Schlossberg, has been inhabited since the eighth century. Ancient structures dot the town, including the castle and Burgkapelle, or Royal Chapel, which is one of the oldest standing churches in the whole country. Iron mining, which was central to the development of the town, is presented in various exhibitions in Sulzbach-Rosenberg.
When people vacation, they often wish to learn more about the place they have chosen to visit. Drinking a beer in a lively pub, adventuring down the river in a kanu, or hiking the jagged terrain are all ways to immerse yourself in the life of the German people of the region.
