Situated near the church and village is Wagbachniederung, a protected natural area. Placed under protection in 1983, this wetland area has many ponds and is home to many bird species. Canadian geese, swans, grey herons, ducks, and tubring singers are just a few of the species which reside in this water-dominated region.

Other wild-eyed creatures roam the protected habitat area as well, including unken, which is a type of frog, and Ringelnatter, which is a snake species. Cycling tracks in the area provide physicality and gorgeous scenery for those who wish to explore Mother Nature’s delights while in the region.
