The photogenic Inn River is sure to inspire you, passing through idyllic scenery and numerous small towns. You will also want to snap many photos at the Toteiskessel Way in Haager Land, where water-filled depressions formed by glacial activity make for beautiful landscapes.
In Neumarkt-Sankt Veit you will find a 700-year-old elongated, rectangular marketplace with gates at either end. Pay a visit to the Castle Adlstein, now home to the local public library.
The district seat, the town of Mühldorf, is a cultural gem, rich in art treasures, including splendid buildings, magnificent churches, medieval paintings and sculptures. You will want to be here for the annual Carnival and the Old Town Festival, replete with Bavarian music, lots of cold beer and a Middle-Ages market atmosphere.
The district’s largest town, Waldkraiburg, is focused primarily on industrial development, especially chemical plants and engine manufacturers. But recreation is also emphasized, and you can enjoy motorsports, running, shooting, squash, diving and dancing here.
