Geislingen is one town where strolling around rewards you with plenty to see and do. Visit the old city quarters where you’ll find impressive half-timbered buildings immaculately preserved and looking as good as new.
One of the most remarkable of them all would have to be the Old Building which is definitely worth your while for its sheer majesty as it rises against the blue skies. Then there’s the Protestant Church which again is something that defies description due to its sheer grandeur. Stroll along the quaint pedestrian walkway for more of the same.
For a better understanding of Geislingen an der Steige you would do well to visit the Treasure Chest Museum with its splendid collection of artifacts. Then there’s the Red Cross Museum with its share of wonderful exhibits.
As for cultural treats you’re bound to find yourself in one of the weekly markets — on Wednesdays or Saturdays. Extravaganzas such as the Five Valleys Town festivals, horse markets, rock concerts, and the Geislingen Stadfest will give you an authentic experience of German culture and hospitality.
