If you want a truly authentic Gelsenkirchen nightlife experience, then come to Celebration. The clientele consists of many locals, which is always a good sign in an establishment! The Celebration bar serves the regional brew, Veltins, on draft.
There is plenty of space for standing around, but a limited amount of tables, so be sure to arrive early if you want a seat. You can take advantage of the dart boards in the back of the pub if you can’t find yourself a chair. And if you’re visiting during the warmer summer months, be sure to enjoy yourself in the outdoor beer garden.
Two Faces (Hochstraße 60)
You can go from Germany to Africa in just a few steps. ;-) This Gelsenkirchen nightlife destination is an exotic place decorated in African motifs. You’ll see indigenous masks, coconuts, and palm trees. To add to the ambiance, Two Faces specializes in African music as well.
If you want something completely different from the usual brand of bars and night clubs, then this just might be your place.
Brauhaus Hibernia (Bahnhofsvorplatz 2)
The Brauhaus Hibernia serves up the best in local beers, most notably the Grubengold brew.
Grubengold is quite different from other German beers. It is best described as a cross between a lager and a weiss, and is both cloudy and light. The beer is perhaps the main draw of this establishment, but there is also plenty of hearty pub food that’s always popular with the the local crowd.

Kronski (Springemarkt 2)
Kronski is a Gelsenkirchen nightlife destination. This place is an interesting combination of a gourmet food eatery, a cafe, a cocktail bar and a large dance floor.
Each night of the week brings a different theme to this eclectic bar-cum-club-cum-cafe. You might be treated to a night of cabaret one day, while another time it could be karaoke night. DJs play house music on other nights. The only thing you can predict is that you will have a fun-filled night. :-)
