Another highlight of this district is the history of the Grimm Brothers (aka Gebrüder Grimm). The Ronneburg castle was a place where they performed their work.
By the way, countless castles and museums give this district a unique character.
If you like nature then you’ll love this district. The Spessart region provides you with forests, nature parks, and KNEIPP spa centers all over the place. And you’ll come across countless hills with apple trees because this is THE area responsible for producing the best apple wine available.
If you like parties, then you must visit Biebergemünd. This small hardcore party town got festivals all year!
Additionally, there is an amusement park in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis called Erlebnispark Steinau near Steinau an der Straße. Although it’s fairly small (in comparison to the major ones), rest assured it’ll be fun for the whole family. :-)
