The district also knows how to pamper you. Its scenery is soft on your eyes, the air is clean, the food is delicious, and the water is said to have healing powers. :-)
Mindelheim, the district capital, has museums, art galleries, and theaters for your viewing pleasure. Stop by the restaurant at impressive Castle Mindelburg for a bite to eat, or visit during festival and market events to see medieval times recreated.
Ottobeuren, a town in the southwest with a famous abbey and basilica, features modern concerts, wellness centers and dozens of restaurants to sooth you to the core. Further southwest, at the resort known as Bad Grönenbach, you can go skiing or snowshoeing, then follow up with a relaxing steam bath, sauna or soak at the local spa.
Bad Wörishofen to the east is your destination for curative waters. The old therapeutic methods of Sebastian Kneipp (1821–1897) are still applied here, and there is a new spa complex — Therme Bad Wörishofen — with natural iodine spring water, jet massage, swimming pools, and a clothing-free solarium. Hmmm… :-)
