The following Bremen parks offer beautiful trees, a colorful assortment of flowers and plenty of hiking trails to help you appreciate the greener side of life.
Bürgerpark
This Bremen nature park is the perfect way to relax on a warm summer day. Located in the northern part of the city, Bürgerpark is a mecca for runners and picnickers. Nature enthusiasts will delight in the animal and plant conservatories. The park covers over 202 hectares of land when you include the surrounding forest.
If you’re visiting during the summer months (May to September), you can take advantage of the covered wagon rides that only run in the warmer seasons.
Rhododendron Park
From the name, you might guess that you’ll see some pretty rhododendron flowers while visiting here. But this park goes even beyond that expectation by showcasing over 680 species of this blossom that come from all around the world.
Plan on an April or May visit if you hope to see the Rhododendron Park in full bloom.
Botanika
Inside the Rhododendron Park, you can find the Botanika. This Bremen nature park features an entertaining exhibit on plant life. With interactive and multimedia displays, you have plenty of fun as you learn interesting facts about science. One of the highlights is the series of greenhouses that recreate various Asian landscapes.
Knoops Park
Prepare for a sensory and visual overload as you visit Knoops Park. This Bremen park features exotic species of trees and flowers. Take advantage of the nature trails and go for a stroll through this beautifully landscaped park.
Ichons Park
If you want to catch a glimpse of old historical Bremen, then the Ichons Park is for you. It is a perfect example of an old country estate owned by a Bremen merchant of the last few centuries. And it’s located nearby to two other lovely country parks, Höpkens Ruh Park and Muhle’s Park.
