Elsdorf? Yeah, It’s A Little-Known German Town

Elsdorf is a good idea if you are in the vicinity, especially the big city of Cologne.

Don’t you want to know what life in a small town is and experience the difference? Take it from one who knows… ;-)

Often it is the little ones that leave big life-changing impressions on the jet-lagged mind. Big cities are often swallowed up by all the attached hype, but it is the small ones like Elsdorf that offer the spell of individuality.

Elsdorf is a rural town comprising about fourteen villages. Yes, it is exactly as you imagine it is; Pristine clear streams, fragrant air, and untouched greenery blanketing the ground.

The locals, of course, know they have a good thing going. Why else do they have so many festivals to celebrate? Any occasion brings out an impromptu celebration to which of course, it goes without saying, you’re invited merely by virtue of being at the right place at the right time.

Elsdorf being relatively unknown, it is easy for visitors to just blend in and unobtrusively make their way to the various historic monuments and admire them to their heart’s content. The Sittard Court is one such gem that sits amid landscaped grounds.

The Castle House Stammeln is indeed interesting, what with its intriguing history being repeated even today. Visit the House of Love to experience the timeless beauty of half-timbered houses first hand.

Then there’s the Richard House with its impressive gateway.

There’s more to Elsdorf than emerald-green woods. If you think it’s all about countrysides and fat sausages, you may be mistaken. One of the popular activities of its citizens is lazing by their huge out door heated pool. Incorporating an athletic center, tennis courts, gym, huge playing fields, and playgrounds for kids, there’s plenty you can do here.
