Nestled between the northern Sauerland hills and the lowlands of the “Hellweg,” the Soest District is certainly a place to visit if you love architecture and local history — Romantic Germany.

Towns & Villages in the Soest District
In fact, the capital town of Soest is regarded by many as the most beautiful in the whole province of Westphalia. Plus, the town of Warstein is well known for its brewery and the Warsteiner Pils.
Helped along is the fact that the local limestone here has a lime green hue. It has created an almost magical look to the buildings in this area and is filled to the brim with pretty spired churches.
Being just to the south of the industrial heart of the Ruhrgebiet, the Soest District is a prime outdoor location for vacations. There is plenty of hiking and watersports available here, with caves and forests to explore as well.
The vast outdoors is filled with marked trails and adventure, but the fertile land is also used for agriculture — and hops.
Enjoy!
