When in Germany, having a beer is almost mandatory. One place to try the local brews in Wuppertal is the Brauhaus.
The building was once a bath and swimming establishment, from 1882 until 1993! After a 1997 renovation, it has been transformed into one of the most popular nighttime stops in Wuppertal. You can often catch live music on Fridays.
Cafe du Congo (Luisenstraße 118)
When you’re in the mood for a cozy and intimate spot, head to the Cafe du Congo. This Wuppertal bar is a tiny hot spot right in the middle of all the action in the Luisenviertel. Come, eat, drink and be merry with other tourists, and local artists and university students.

Club Pavillon (Bundesallee 268)
This Wuppertal night club offers all different types of music to dance the night away. The Club Pavillon caters to the alternative crowd with special heavy metal, Goth, retro 60s and 70s rock or British Emo night.

U-Club (Friedrich Ebert Straße 191)
The U-Club was the winner of a magazine’s 2009 poll for the best club in Germany! This Wuppertal club is housed within a brewery that dates back to 1860.
The U-Club opened its doors almost 20 years ago and has since been a popular place for rock and reggae tunes. Nowadays, it often plays host to international rock artists.
Butan (Mohrenstraße 41-43)
This eclectic club is sure to please large groups who can’t decide where to go for the night. With a large variety of musical styles here, most of them are bound to be pleased!
The Butan Club has a mix of rock, techno, funk, metal, house and popular tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
