Brecht Festival Augsburg
This Augsburg event is a celebration of the life of Bertolt Brecht, the famed German director, poet and playwright.
The Brecht Festival usually takes place for thirteen days, just around the time of his birthday in February. The festivities include poetry and literary readings, presentations of Brecht’s own plays and concert events. The festival culminates with an extravagant gala/birthday party at the Augsburg Theater.
Hohes Friedensfest
The Hohes Friedensfest is an Augsburg event for the appreciation of peace. As the location of the eponymous Peace of Augsburg, this city is the only one in Germany to celebrate this day as a legal holiday. Each August 8, the city commemorates the treaty between Charles V and the Lutheran princes.

Augsburg Mozart Festival
