The Duisburg nightlife scene may be small compared to Germany’s nightlife capitals, like Berlin or Hamburg. But there’s no lack of things to do, places to go and spots to be seen in this lively city.
Duisburg Bars
Brauhaus Schacht 4 / 8 (Düsseldorferstraße 21)
If you’re looking for the best brews in town, then you’ll want to have a pint at this Duisburg bar. The Brauhaus Schacht 4 / 8 is a huge brewery-cum-pub that is housed inside a regal 19th century building. The interior is decorated in a mining style — owing to its mine namesake — with marble columns and an intricate wooden ceiling.
There are four beer draft styles and plenty of pub variety food, like buffalo wings. And you’ll find all this just a stone’s throw from the Hauptbahnhof.
Heinrich’s Im Wicküler (Königstraße 78)
This Duisburg bar offers a great selection of draft beers and is ideally located in the main shopping district of Königstraße. You’ll recognize Heinrich’s Im Wicküler straightaway with its bright white exterior.
While the interior is far from fancy or avant-garde, the beer selection and location are really the focus of this no-frills locale. You can also sample some of the tasty local fare they offer, like their fish specialties.
Duisburg Night Clubs
Gebläsehalle at Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord
The Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord (Duisburg-North Country Park) touches all parts of Duisburg life, including its nightlife. But you have to catch them at just the right time. Four times every year, the Gebläsehalle or old blowing hall, is transformed into Club Machine Deluxe. DJs play the hottest electronic and techno tunes on two packed dance floors.
Delta-Musik-Park (Hamborner Straße 40)
This famous Duisburg night club is a main attraction. Fans of techno, as well as R&B and hip hop, will feel right at home on Delta-Musik-Park’s dance floors. Saturdays are the night for the club’s “mad half hour” and there are also numerous beach parties and table dancing nights.
No matter when you show up here, you can be guaranteed an unforgettable night! ;-)
